4003 |
The Type 4003 is an omnidirectional high-voltage (130 V) condenser
microphone with extremely linear frequency response and extended
low frequency handling capability (-2 dB at 10 Hz). The high sensitivity
and the low noise-floor of the 4003 makes the microphone the perfect
choice for all professional recordings. The Type 4003 is acoustically
identical with the studio standard Type 4006, but differs in the
powering system. The hi-voltage system enables the 4003 to handle
app. 10 dB higher SPL than the 4006. The impressive dynamic range
of the 4003, together with the wide range of acoustic pressure equalizers
and protection grids puts the 4003 in the top league of studio quality
microphones.

DPA 4006 |
The Type 4006 is without doubt the most popular Standard Microphone
in the Series 4000 Microphones and has since its release in 1982
earned a status as being the worldwide studio standard. It is an
omnidirectional condenser microphone with an extremely linear frequency
response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, high sensitivity and a low noise-floor.
The 4006 is phantom powered (P48), which together with the extended
range of acoustic pressure equalisers and different protection grids
turns the 4006 into an extremely cost effective solution. All in
all the Type 4006 can be changed into 7 different microphone versions
acoustically. The 4006 has gained its reputation through its total
transparency in both the near-field and in the diffuse field. A must
for any studio.
The 4006 can be upgraded to a transformerless version, 4006-TL. The
upgrade includes a factory-based retrofitting to the DPA 4006-TL
with transformerless preamplifier, close-miking grid, DPA 4006-TL
type ring, calibration chart and new mic case.

DPA 4006-TL |
DPA 4006 is one of the most popular types in the DPA microphone
range and is a worldwide reference thanks to its precise, detailed
and natural reproduction. For more than 20 years it has impressed
studio owners and broadcasters as well as musicians and engineers
thanks to its transparent sound quality. It is one of the most
sought after studio microphones in the industry - and the one
that gives most value for your money.
In striving to achieve an
even cleaner sound, the 4006-TL is equipped with a state-of-the-art
transformerless preamplifier and is powered via a standard 48
V Phantom Power supply. This design increases the sensitivity
and provides an extended low-frequency handling capability (15
Hz to 20 kHz ±2 dB). All components
in this construction are very carefully selected to fulfil the
demand for optimal neutrality, accuracy and extremely low distortion
even at very high sound pressure levels and at complex passages
in the music.
The applications of 4006-TL are numerous: AB stereo
pair for symphonic concert hall recordings, close mic on instruments
such as grand piano, guitar, double bass, percussion and speech/vocals,
just to mention a few examples where a 4006-TL will give more
detail and more open resolution.
With the acoustic modification
accessories it is possible to gain 7 different frequency responses
and directional characteristics with just one 4006-TL. You simply
change a grid or mount an element over the capsule and it will
influence the sound field acoustically without any phase shift,
noise or distortion, that any electrical filter will introduce.
4006-TL
is a product for sound engineers with demands for high quality.
The precise reproduction, total transparency and natural-sounding
clarity of this microphone will provide you with a lifetime of
satisfying listening.
If you have a 4006, you can upgrade to 4006-TL.
The upgrade includes a factory-based retrofitting to the DPA
4006-TL with transformerless preamplifier, close-miking grid,
DPA 4006-TL type ring, calibration chart and new mic case.

4011-TL |
The 4011-TL cardioid microphone is a new upgraded version of
the classic DPA 4011 renowned in recording studios all over the
world as an exceptional mic. State-of-the-art components have
been carefully selected to provide optimal neutrality, accuracy
and extremely low distortion.
The first order cardioid pick-up
pattern gives superb separation between sound sources while spot-miking
on every kind of live music. The mic is equally suitable for
close-up work on acoustic guitar, grand piano, overheads, percussion,
wind instruments and vocals. It can handle incredibly high sound
levels and even includes a 20 dB pad switch to attenuate the
output of the microphone.
A flat on
axis frequency response and excellent phase response deliver
a totally faithful reproduction of the original sound. The off-axis
response is similarly smooth so that any leakage is an accurate
reflection of the original, though attenuated according to the
true first-order cardioid pick-up. The feeling of being there
will always be more intense with the 4011-TL than with any other
cardioid.

4012 |
The
Cardioid Microphone Type 4012 is a hi-voltage (130 V) condenser
microphone with a linear frequency response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz
(±2 dB) and an incredible SPL handling capability of 168
dB SPL peak before clipping occurs. Type 4012 is acoustically identical
with the popular Type 4011-TL, but differs in the powering method
which enables the 4012 to handle these extreme sound pressure levels.
The off-axis characteristics of the 4012 Cardioid Microphone are
totally linear, a unique quality which has taken a lot of attention
to obtain. So any leakage that occurs from off-axis sound sources
is still a faithful reproduction of these sounds, though attenuated
according to the true first order cardioid pick-up pattern.

DPA 4015-TL |
The DPA 4015-TL wide cardioid microphone is an upgraded version
of the original DPA 4015. The wide cardioid polar pattern (also
known as hemisphere) is the perfect fill-in between an omni and
a more directional microphone.
The wide cardioid covers a greater
sound angle and is an excellent choice for grand piano, guitar,
marimba and percussion or as a spot mic for groups in a symphony
orchestra. Likewise it is an excellent speech, dubbing or vocal
mic as its enhanced richness on the bass end nicely complements
many voices.
The 4015-TL has
a linear on-axis frequency response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz and
is intentionally designed with a soft, high frequency boost to
offer a more brilliant sound in close miking applications and
a linear response in the diffuse field. It is phantom powered
(P48), transformerless and can handle 158 dB SPL peak before
clipping occurs. A 20 dB pad switch in the center of the XLR
connector can be used to attenuate the output of the microphone.

DPA 4016 |
The 4016 wide cardioid microphone is the high voltage (130 V)
counterpart to the 4015. The two microphones are acoustically
identical, but differ in their sound level handling. Due to the
higher voltage supplied for the preamplifier via the DPA HMA5000,
the 4016 can handle 168 dB SPL peak before clipping occurs!
It
is designed with a linear on-axis frequency response from 40
Hz (±2 dB) to 20 kHz (+3/-2 dB) at 60 cm, with a soft
high frequency lift from 10 to 15 kHz of max. 3 dB.
The off-axis
characteristics of the 4016 wide cardioid microphone are totally
linear, a unique quality when it comes to authentic sound reproduction.
Any leakage that occurs from off-axis sound sources is still
a faithful reproduction of these sounds, just softly attenuated.

Several standard set-ups such as ORTF and XY are possible. The
4011-TL mics handle very high SPL and will therefore allow close
placement as well as more distant. Often used for piano recordings
of jazz or pop with a placement closer to the hammers or as overheads
for drums.
The kit includes 2 windscreens, 2 very effective shock
mounts, a precision-crafted stereo boom for secure mounting of
microphone pairs for A-B stereo recordings and a spacer to allow
XY or ORTF stereo set-ups on the boom.
