High-output, 2000 watt, 3-way LF/MB/HF linear array technology system, rectangular cabinet designed for the upper section of the linear array. 90° horizontal coverage pattern ideal for long throw applications; vertical coverage angle is approximately 5°. HF section comprised of 3 neodymium ND5A HF compression drivers, dual 8-in. neodymium ND08 MB woofers mounted on a wide midbass horn, and dual 15-in. EVX 155RMDDP (plate) LF woofers. New EV Hydra™ time synchronized HF vertical plane wave generator provides excellent far-field summing. HF section is asymmetrically loaded providing flexibility to configure systems with HF placed on or off stage. Ring Mode Decoupling (RMD) provides level independent fidelity, greater mid bass clarity and high frequency accuracy. New proprietary rigging allows for rapid venue load-in and load-out, linking hardware included. One of four application specific X-Line™ models.
The Xvls and Xvlt use newly developed components and time-synchronized wave guides. All X-Line™ acoustical and mechanical circuits employ EV’s exclusive Ring Mode Decoupling (RMD™) to ensure sonic character that does not degrade with increasing power levels. The application of RMD™ technologies to all enclosures and transducer components controls—or damps—each of the mechanical and acoustical resonant modes found in loudspeaker systems. Aggressive control of these resonant modes not only yields levelindependent fidelity, but also produces substantially more upfront tonal character that is free from the typical ringing—or time-domain distortions—found in most high-level sound reinforcement systems.
