Focusrite Saffire Plug-in Suite

All Saffire Range hardware units include the Saffire plugin suite, produced by the same team that who developed the LiquidControl and the Forte Suite. Compression, reverb, amp modeling and EQ Saffire plug-ins are included in both VST and AudioUnit plug-in formats, for use in the mix.

Both the EQ and Compressor feature two modes. The first is a preset solution providing, alongside a flat setting, eight presets with the following titles:

• Vocal
• Electric Guitar
• Accoustic Guitar
• Bass
• Wind
• Piano
• Strings
• Percussion

Each preset provides a reasonable starting point, delivering suitable EQ and Compression solutions for the chosen sound source. However, having selected a preset, you can then go on to finely tune these settings, by simply clicking the 'advanced' switch.

In advanced mode, the EQ provides you with a low shelving band, two parametric mids and a high shelving band. The Compressor provides Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release and Gain.

The compressor has been modeled on the Focusrite's hardware devices, using the measurement of custom optos to achieve the signature Focusrite sound. (All Focusrite optos are tuned by ear, just like in the old days of analog design, ensuring a faithful recreation of those classic vintage 1960s optical compressors.)

With the same signature as the original Focusrite EQ curves. Focusrite's R&D team used state-of-the-art numerical transform techniques to create an authentic response across the entire audible frequency spectrum for this software EQ.
