About Meyer Sound Speakers
Meyer Sound's Concert, Ultra, "M",
Industrial, and Studio Series comprise the world's most complete
line of self-powered professional audio loudspeaker systems.
For applications ranging from small meeting rooms and project
studios up to the largest stadiums and theme parks, Meyer Sound
provides comprehensively engineered solutions that marry unsurpassed
sonic fidelity with the built-in flexibility and cost-effectiveness
of self-powered loudspeaker systems: simplified wiring, faster
set-up, no amplifier racks, and a reduced need for outboard
drive processing.
Meyer Sound's integrated system philosophy extends beyond
the individual speaker cabinets to encompass large arrayed
systems involving multiple subsystems — FOH, fill, delays
and stage monitors. Because each Meyer Sound loudspeaker is
designed from the outset to balance and complement the others,
the sound of a well-implemented Meyer Sound system remains
strikingly consistent at all seats throughout the venue, a
crucial consideration for FOH mixing engineers. To aid in the
arraying and installation of its products, Meyer Sound is constantly
expanding the QuickFly rigging, flying and mounting hardware
available for Concert, "M", Ultra, and Industrial Series loudspeaker
systems. The SIM audio analyzer is available to verify and
optimize system performance in real time. Meyer Sound also
produces a range of signal processing options and offers the
RMS remote monitoring system, which provides continuous loudspeaker
status information to a remote PC.
Most Meyer Sound speaker cabinets are constructed of marine-grade
birch plywood. To protect the cabinets in outdoor installations,
Meyer employs a variety of manufacturing techniques and processes.
Weather-protected cabinets receive a special finish that consists
of a sealant primer and a finishing top coat. This coating
is applied to all interior and exterior cabinet surfaces (one
coat on the interior, and two on the exterior). It penetrates
and stabilizes the wood, and enables the cabinet to withstand
a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions. The exterior
top coat is a two-part modified acrylic urethane similar to
that used in military applications. Cone drivers are coated
with a special water-resistant material, and gold-plated connectors
resist corrosion while assuring reliable connections. Grill
frames are coated to resist moisture. All components that mount
to the cabinet exterior use custom gaskets, and all are mounted
with stainless steel fasteners. A fixed plastic hood protects
the electronics package from rain on all self-powered products.
The weather protection option is not available for the UMS-1P,
MJF-212, PSM-2 and Stella line of loudspeakers.
