The MCE 55 Helix has been designed for unobtrusive miking of different instruments. Due to its extremely versatile holder it can be mounted to many instruments directly or held with a playing hand. The omnidirectional polar pattern allows optimum positioning; furthermore the close miking effect (i.e. when the distance to the microphone is very short, the bass response is disproportional loud), known from directional microphones, is avoided. The material of the Helix holder minimises the transmission of vibrations and saves the surface of the instrument.


The MCE 55.18 Helix can be used in wired applications with the optional CV 18 power supply unit on phantom-powered microphone inputs or with optional beyerdynamic wireless systems.
