Intercom PS-1
Intercom Power Supply |
|
Performance: The PS-1 is a highly
regulated 24 VDC, 2 Amp (continuous) power supply capable of
supplying up to 66 BP-1 beltpacks with all signal lights constantly
lit. It may be rack mounted or used as a table-top unit, when fitted
with its optional plain side panels and plastic feet.
The PS-1 may be used alone to power a single-circuit system, or
it may be combined with Production Intercom's MSM-1 to form what is commonly referred
to as a Main or Master Station. The toroidal
transformer used in the PS-1 provides greater efficiency, lower hum,
and reduced strayfield radiation compared with conventional types,
and allows the single rack unit configuration. The regulator IC also
provides protection against overloads and short circuits. In the
event of a protective shut-down, turning the main AC switch off and
back on, after removing the short, will restore power to the system.
For the sake of economy and simplicity, the PS-1 has only one
3-pin XLR type connector on the rear panel.
That unit has the same cabinet and main componentry as the
PS-1, but also has 3 XLR type outlets, front panel switches to
connect and disconnect the three circuits, and LED signal
indicators for two of the circuits.
Durability: The steel cabinet, firmly secured
components, and best-quality XLR type connector all contribute to
the PS-1's outstanding ability to withstand rough usage.
Value: Simplicity of construction and the
resulting ease of assembly affords the use of high-quality
components and a price much below comparable 2 Amp rack-mountable
power supplies.
Compatibility: The PS-1 may be used with
Clear-ComŽ and other popular headset communications systems
stations. The PS-1 is also available in a 240V version.

Intercom BP-1
Portable Headset Station |
|
Performance: The BP-1 portable
headset station may be worn on the belt or hung on the wall by its
sturdy belt-clip. Soft plastic strips on the underside help hold it
in place when set on top of a console. The matte black finish
minimizes visibility.
Frequency response has been carefully shaped to optimize both
intelligibility and long-term listening comfort. A microphone
limiter circuit reduces overload distortion. The high bridging
impedance ensures that system and sidetone levels do not vary as
other stations are switched in and out of the circuit.
The top panel contains controls for switching the microphone on
and off, for controlling listening level, and for signaling. They
are easily identifiable by touch. A recessed, screwdriver -adjust
control is provided for varying the level of the user's voice to be
heard in his own earphone (Sidetone). A long-life, extremely bright,
4-segment LED serves as the signal light.
The bottom panel provides a 3-pin female XLR for connection to
the system; a 3-pin male XLR for looping onwards to the next
station, and; a 4-pin male XLR for connection of any standard
communications headset with a dynamic microphone.
Durability: The ribbed, extruded aluminum case;
glass-filled nylon end bezels; internal support system for the PC
board; best-quality XLR-type connectors, and; recessed controls, all
contribute to the outstanding ability of the BP-1 to withstand rough
usage.
Value: The comparatively low price of the BP-1
is made possible by the minimized assembly cost resulting from
simplicity of construction. Simple construction also affords the use
of higher quality components, and increases the ease (thus lowering
the cost) of servicing.
Compatibility: The BP-1 is plug-in compatible
with Clear-ComŽ and other popular headset intercom systems.

Intercom Blazon/3
Strobe/Audio Annunciator |
|
Performance: Blazons
are triggered by the same voltage which lights the normal signal
lamps in the intercom system. Whenever any signal lamp button on
any station in the same circuit is pressed, the Blazons will be
activated. The xenon lamp is permanently connected. The audible
annunciator (Blazon/3) may be switched among constant, pulsed,
and off. Circuitry is provided to sustain the Blazons for 4 seconds
after being triggered. The xenon lamp has a flash rate of 2Hz,
providing 8 flashes per cycle.
The Blazons are connected to the headset intercom
system in the same manner as a beltpack. They have two 3-pin XLR
connectors on the rear panel. By convention (to differentiate from
microphone inputs) the female connector is designated as input.
The male connector is provided for looping onwards to the next
station in the system. Reversing these connections will not affect
operation.
Blazons are powered by the intercom power supply and require no
batteries or other external power source. In its ready mode it
draws only 21.1mA; with the strobe active, 68mA, and; with the
strobe and audible annunciator, only 80mA. When calculating power
supply requirements, you may consider the Blazon/3 as the approximate
equivalent of 3 or 4 beltpacks.
Durability: The ribbed, extruded aluminum case;
glass-filled nylon end bezels; internal support system for the
PC board, and; best quality XLR-type connectors, all contribute
to the Blazons' ability to withstand rough usage.
Value: The comparatively low price of the Blazons
is made possible by the minimized assembly cost resulting from
simplicity of construction.
Compatibility: Blazons are compatible with Clear-Com® and
other popular (200 ohms, unbalanced) headset intercom systems.

Intercom HH10A/HH10B Handsets |
|
The HH10/A consists of the handset with push-to-talk
switch, equipped with a coil cord and 4-pin XLR connector, and
a wall mount cradle with retaining spring-clip, as shown in the
photo.
The HH10/B consists of the same handset, coil
cord and cradle, but the coil cord is wired to the cradle which,
in this model, contains a hook-switch to mute the earspeaker
when the handset is “hung up”. A ten foot cable is
wired to the HH10/B cradle, with a 4-pin XLR connector for connection
to an intercom station.
We recommend the HH10/B for quiet environments where the audio
from the earspeaker (while the handset is in the cradle) would
be a nuisance.

Intercom SMH210 / DMH220 Communications Headsets |
- Virtually Unbreakable
- No Moving Parts
Performance:
Exceptionally high quality transducers provide wide smooth frequency response, reducing the onset of ‘ear fatigue’ for those who must spend many hours wearing headsets. Deep, comfortable ear cushions have excellent external noise exclusion characteristics, and are washable with ordinary dish washing detergent. At 7.35 oz. the SMH210, and at 8.75oz the DMH220, are much lighter than their appearances suggest. The noise-canceling microphone is mounted on a flexible, steel reinforced boom which can be easily twisted into a comfortable position. The flexible headband is adjustable. The normal transducer configuration for use with Production Intercom and compatible headset intercom systems are 400ohm earspeakers and a 200ohm dynamic microphone. Electret microphones and lower impedance earspeakers for other applications are also available, and combinations of these transducers make up the various models. For use with Production Intercom and most headset communications systems the SMH210 and DMH220 are fitted with a 4-pin female XLR-type plug. For other appliations many different plugs are available.
Durability
Because these headsets have only one moving part, and the microphone boom is flexible rather than hinged, a remarkable degree of durability is achieved. The light-weight cable consists of a copper shield around steel reinforced conductors, and is virtually unbreakable under normal circumstances. The assembly screws are hidden to prevent tampering. These headsets are easily field repairable. Production Intercom maintains a full inventory of replacement parts at reasonable prices and provides fast turnaround on repairs.
Value
Low initial cost (compared to other professional communications headsets of equivalent quality), combines with long working life and low cost of repairs to offer outstanding value.
Compatibility
200 series headsets are compatible with Clear-Com® and all other popular headset intercom systems, as well as drive-thru restaurant systems, disk jockey systems and other applications.
