PowerCore X8 provides a massive amount of power, with 8 fast DSPs and oodles of RAM. Power
Even complex mixes are possible with just a laptop and one PowerCore X8. The unique combination of a floating-point Power PC with 8 Motorola DSPs, ensures tight integration into the native world while at the same time maintaining all of the advantages that DSPs offer for pristine signal processing.

The PowerCore PCI mkII fits into a standard PCI/PCI-X slot and the PowerCore Express fits into a PCI Express slot – that’s the only difference between the two cards. Both of them come with the same amount of plug-ins and feature set and they are a potent combination between 14 state-of-the-art processing plug-ins and 4 x 150 mHz DSPs. The plug-in bundle that comes with the PCI and the Express card, consists of the 14 plug-ins known from PowerCore FireWire, leaving you with a bunch of versatile and professional tools, and it sports the same performance as the rack-based PowerCore FireWire.

Unplugged Liberty
PowerCore Unplugged gives you the flexibility to choose exactly which of the optional PowerCore plug-ins you want to run on your system. If you’re already the lucky owner of PowerCore you can also use the PowerCore Unplugged to add more power to your setup and that way run even more plug-ins simultaneously. The Unplugged is the same piece of hardware as the PowerCore PCI mkII but without bundled plug-ins - we’ve “un-plug-ed” the PowerCore so to speak. With no bundled plug-ins PowerCore Unplugged gives you the liberty to compose your own palette of plug-ins, but it does however require at least one PowerCore plug-in to run.
